3 Nephi 5:13 Behold, I am a disciple of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. I have been called of him to declare his word among his people, that they might have everlasting life.

Halfway through the MTC

We Pershëndetje Secili!!
I'm officially a ONE MONTH missionary and do you know what that means? I'm halfway through the MTC! I still love being here at the MTC. I can't even think about leaving right now especially with how much more I have to learn about the language. I compare forming sentences in Albanian to doing a 1,000 piece puzzle :) But it is actually a ton of fun! We had to say goodbye to all of the Dutch missionaries in our zone as they are headed to the Port of Spain and to Belgium and the Netherlands. We get new Dutch this week and as Sister Training Leaders we get to welcome them so we're pretty excited!

So this last week I got asked to sing in a double quartet at the upcoming Thanksgiving Program next week. I get to sing throughout the program and I'm pretty excited! We have a lot of fun things coming up these next few weeks and then before I know if, I'll be headed to Albania!

So this last week I had an incredible experience with my Motrat. We were at the front desk and we ran into a man named Jose. He told us that he's been coming to the MTC to be taught by the Spanish missionaries here. He said that in the lessons it's been very broken Spanish but when the Sisters talked about the lessons it was very clear. We were just sharing with him about where we were going and when we were about to leave, he told us, "I have one question for you sisters, why do I have to pray about this book? (referring to the Book of Mormon)" He said that the sister missionaries gave it to him and told him to pray about it, but he didn't understand why. It was a special experience sharing with him why I have prayed about the Book of Mormon and that he can experience that to. I shared that when I pray to God, to my Heavenly Father, I ask for comfort and I ask the questions that have been on my mind. Then through the Book of Mormon, I am comforted and my questions are answered. I shared that I prayed for this book to know for myself that it truly does testify of Christ. I experienced the importance of simplicity in teaching as I shared this with Jose and he had a better understanding for the importance of reading and praying about the Book of Mormon. I had a little taste of what I will be doing in the field. in Albania, and I truly felt the love that God has for each of us!

Moroni 10:3-5 (in the Book of Mormon)

3Behold, I would exhort you that when ye shall read these things, if it be wisdom in God that ye should read them, that ye would remember how merciful the Lord hath been unto the children of men, from the creation of Adam even down until the time that ye shall receive these things, and ponder it...

4And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true ; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power...

5And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things.

I wish you all the best this next week! You are in my prayers! :)

Shqip Words of the Week:
1. Shpres (as it sounds) means hope
2. Gjalp Kirikiku (jahlp kee-ree-kee-koo) is probably one of my favorite words. It means peanutbutter :)
3. Të lutem (tuh loo-tem) means please in Shqip but translated literally means "I pray thee". I'm telling you, it's like biblical talk.

That's My Jam!

C'kemi Secili!!
I hope you all had a wonderful week! So this week we had a lot of things happening. Here at the MTC on Sunday nights and Tuesday nights we have devotionals (like giant assemblies where all of the missionaries gather together and hear from a speaker). Before we have a speaker, usually there's a musical number by a missionary or by the MTC choir (made up of 1,000 missionaries). So this week I auditioned for a musical number in an upcoming devotional and I was selected! I will know in about 2 weeks when I will perform but I am so excited to sing again! I am singing, "Abide With Me 'Tis Eventide" (hymn # 165). It is absolutely beautiful!

Every Friday, we have TRC (I have no idea what that stands for) but we have return missionaries or native speakers speaking Shqip come into the MTC and we teach them a lesson. This last TRC, it really hit me my progress in the language as I was able to converse and joke and understand in Shqip. One of the Sisters we taught was Motra Jackson-the missionary whose blog I read entirely. It was funny teaching her, I let her know that I read all about her 18 months in Albanian on her blog...it might've sounded a little creepy but that's fine. :)

We're finally really getting into the language and I am LOVING it! We have been having a ton of grammar lessons now and I feel like it's a puzzle...it will take a lot of practice but it has been a lot of fun! The language is very biblical meaning that the informal "you" form in English is "thou". So pretty much we go around telling each other "Are thou ready to go?"

On the Tuesday night devotional, we were blessed to have one of the 12 Apostles come and speak to us!! President Nelson came with his wife and shared his love for us and our service. He taught us about trusting in God for with God, nothing is impossible. He also shared with us that the Prophet, President Thomas S. Monson, told President Nelson to tell the missionaries hello for him. It was so special having a prophet of God there with his sweet spirit! I got to sing in the MTC choir as we sang "Praise to the Man" about Joseph Smith and I felt such a powerful spirit as I sang, "Millions shall know brother Joseph again". I have the opportunity to go and share with the millions about the prophet Joseph Smith who restored this gospel, the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Finally, I wanted to share something that has really stood out to me recently. As Thanksgiving is approaching, we have been talking a lot about gratitude and living in thanksgiving daily. I have come to understand the need for gratitude at all times, especially throughout our trials in life. As we daily count our blessings, and find the good through our difficult times, we will experience the most joy! I have even thought about thanking God for my trials because it is through them that I have been strengthened and that I have grown closer to my Savior and felt the MOST joy!
"Waiting for a beautiful future causes us to lose the beautiful today". I have so many things to look forward to like going to Albania and serving the people there. But then at the same time, I have so much to be thankful for during my time here at the MTC, growing closer to my Savior and learning how to represent Him and to faithfully serve Him. As we look at the beautiful today, count our blessings daily, and are grateful in every trial, everyday can be beautiful!

I love being a missionary and I am SO THANKFUL for thou! ;) Have a wonderful week!

Shqip Words of the Week:
1. Jam (pronounced "yahm") means "I am"
2. Lumtur (loom-tour) means happy
3. Falënderoj (fall-en-der-oy) means "I am thankful"
Falënderoj and Lumtur
On Halloween, we followed through with going Anti-Trick or Treating and dressed up as ghosts.
We decided to organize our massive amount of food into what we call "sustenance", "slightly sustenance" and "not at all sustenance". We are far from it.
We got our mission shirts!
Read the Libri I Mormonit (Book of Mormon). It's a good book and best part: IT'S TRUE! We read it everyday together in Shqip!
All the Sisters in our zone. Our Dutch are leaving us next week!
Elder Harris (Albanian Elder) and us Motrat had to say goodbye to Elder Harris's twin as he is heading out to Sweden today! We're going to miss calling out to our Swedish brother everyday!
My ZONE! I love them! They are my family, for real. :)

Gëzuar Hallouin

Gëzuar Hallouin secili!! (Happy Halloween everyone)! A "w" does not exist in Shqip so they just make up the sound with "ui".
I am now a 3 week missionary, meaning that I am 1/3 of the way done with the MTC (just 6 more weeks to go) AND the English missionaries that entered the MTC with me on the first day leave tomorrow on their missions. Weird. The time really does fly by here. The days feel like weeks and the weeks feel like days. I don't really know how that works....but all I can say is I love every second of being a missionary!

One thing I love about being in the MTC during holidays such as Thanksgiving, Halloween, and Christmas season is that we have lots of events to look forward to and the courtyard already has Christmas lights all over the trees! I was a little excited to see all the lights....also tonight the sisters and I are doing anti-trick or treating because we have so much candy and SO MUCH food! Shout out to one of the Hungarian's sister's mom who sends a box daily.....we don't know what to do with all the food. Also I am very thankful for the Halloween gifts from my family and my grandparents. Packages are like Christmas!

My branch president referred to my companions and I as the "3 amigos". That is how I would describe my relationship with these sisters! They truly are amazing and I am so blessed to be working with them! Our branch president (over the zone, comparable to a mission president) asked my companions and I to be the Sister Training Leaders over the zone until we leave. I am looking forward to this opportunity to serve the missionaries in my zone and contribute to helping them and serving them!

This week I have learned a lot about faith. I wanted to start off with a scripture in the Book of Mormon,

Moroni 7:33 And Christ hath said: If ye will have faith in me ye shall have the power to do whatsoever thing is expedient in me.

What does it mean to have faith? To have faith in Jesus Christ? Faith in Jesus Christ is believing that He truly is the Son of God. He truly suffered for us individually. He suffered, so that we don't have to. Then through faith, we have the power to do ALL THINGS! Just like in the Bible in Phillipians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." This means that when we are suffering, Christ can strengthen us and comfort us. When we feel guilt, through Christ's Atonement we can be forgiven of ALL sins. This means that I can learn Shqip and serve the people in Albania. We can do all things through Christ. And what can we do? We need to do our part. Turn to Him through learning about His life through the scriptures. Pray to His father, OUR Father in Heaven and ask for comfort and for forgiveness. And for me, I  go into a lesson, knowing very minimum Shqip with poor grammer, with the faith that my message about Jesus Christ and His gospel will bless the people I teach. As we do our part and turn to Him, we truly will be comforted, blessed, and loved. I can feel of His love as I prepare to learn and teach His message to the Albanian people. I did not give 18 months of my life to Him, but more He is giving ME 18 months to live as He did through serving and teaching His gospel. I say that in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Until next week! I love you all so much!

Shqip Words of the Week:
1. Besim (beh-seem) means faith
2. Shoqet (show-chet) means female friends/companions
3. Bëj Shaka (boy-shah-kaaah) means just kidding :)
The 3 amigos (or shoqet)

"I Just Couldn't Say Jo"

C'kemi!!

I hope everyone had a wonderful week with midterms and everything! My week has been packed with studies and classes. You may be wondering what I do everyday so here's the run down of a typical day at the MTC. Breakfast, class, GYM TIME, lunch, class, study, dinner, class, study, sleep. And then repeat. You really spice things up when you have a weekly devotional or go to choir. Although it's the same schedule everyday, I love every minute of it.

So gym time is my favorite time of the day. I literally play volleyball everyday! Shout out to my volleyball girls I coached and their help training me for volleyball at the MTC ;) Saturday was one of my companions, Motra Jones' birthday! To celebrate, I found a random package of bamboo paper straws and then put a little message together for her to wake up to. We got the whole cafeteria to sing to her at breakfast. It was the best.

I spend about 12 hours in the classroom everyday learning Shqip and teaching LESSONS IN SHQIP. So last week I shared with you my struggle of a first lesson and as I had hoped, it has luckily gone uphill since then! As missionaries, we focus on the people we are teaching and their needs! We pray so much for all of you and what we can do to help you and those we teach in all things! I'm not here learning Shqip. I'm here learning how to serve and teach others about how much our Heavenly Father loves you and you personally! And then to share that we can do all things through Christ and His Atonement. I just want to leave with you my love and testimony of our Savior. Jesus Christ suffered for us. He suffered every pain and affliction, sin, sorrow and pain, and every trial we would ever face because HE loves US! He suffered, so that we don't have to. As we ask God for forgiveness and for comfort through our trials, He is just waiting to relieve us of our hardships and our pain. Let us have the courage to let Christ take our burdens and our sins from our hands as we pray for strength to change and grow closer to Him.

11 And he shall go forth, suffering pains and afflictions and temptations of every kind; and this that the word might be fulfilled which saith he will take upon him the pains and the sicknesses of his people.

12 And he will take upon him death, that he may loose the bands of death which bind his people; and he will take upon him their infirmities, that his bowels may be filled with mercy, according to the flesh, that he may know according to the flesh how to succor his people according to their infirmities.

13 Now the Spirit knoweth all things; nevertheless the Son of God suffereth according to the flesh that he might take upon him the sins of his people, that he might blot out their transgressions according to the power of his deliverance; and now behold, this is the testimony which is in me. (Alma 7:11-13 in the Book of Mormon)

I'm not here on a mission for the adventure, the food, or the language. These experiences come with the package. :) I am here because I KNOW that we have a Savior who loves us and I am here as a representative of Jesus Christ, serving Him, and sharing with the Albanian people this truth that it is because of Christ that we can return to our Father in Heaven and feel the greatest joy through EVERY trial we experience today. I know this to be true, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Until next week! I love you all!

Shqip Words of the Week:
1. Jo (pronounced "yo") means "No". In one of my classes, my teacher was sharing with me something and asked what I thought and my response. We try to speak Shqiplish (relate to Spanglish haha) and I ended up saying, "I just couldn't say jo!"
2. Perëndia (pear-uhn-dee-uh) means God, or Ati Qiellor (uh-tee chee-eh-lore) means Heavenly Father
3. And a random word I learned....kokoshka means popcorn :)

This language is problemat haha I just thought I'd give an example of a typical Shqip word. It's basically a tongue twister of a language.

This is my District (districts are made up of missionaries according to where they're serving and zones are made up of districts)

This is my classroom. I'm here longer than I sleep.

I just wanted to give a shout out to the homemade pumpkin bread I received in the mail! Best package I have ever received!

All the girls in my zone.

This picture is an example of what PCL (study time) looked like this week :) We didn't even realize we all fell asleep!

Pershendetje per MTC

Pershendetje everyone from the MTC (Missionary Training Center)
First off, I want to share how much I love being a missionary! Everyday, I get to put on my tag and be a representative of Jesus Christ, preparing to share His teaching, His love for everyone, and His gospel. I LOVE IT!

As a missionary, usually you have one companion to teach with you and be with you 24/7. I actually am in a trio so I have 2 other companions, Motra Escarate (the one from Alaska!!), and Motra Jones (from Bountiful! Who knew!) We get along really well! They are so nice and we are able to experience the struggle of learning Shqip (pronounced "sh-cheap", it's Albanian in Albanian) together. Speaking of, the minute I walked right into my classroom just seconds after grabbing all my things, my teacher has only been speaking Sqip to us and wow the language is difficult. It is so beautiful though so I'm pretty pumped (mezi po pres) to learn it!

In my "zone" (or group of missionaries) there are 4 languages! We refer to each other as the Turks, the Huns (the Hungarians), the Dutch, and the Albanians. It is so cool because on Sundays when we go to church, we all sing in our own adopted language at the same time! Also, we prepare a talk every Sunday just in case we're called up and we prepare it in our adopted language. There are literally only 4 Albanians in the MTC so half of Sacrament (the first hour of church meeting) I don't really know what's being said but you can still feel that spirit, that love, and that joy of the message being shared. My companions and I received THE BEST calling. We are Sacrament Meeting greeters! We take our calling seriously as we learned how to say hello in the 3 other languages and used it when welcoming the missionaries to church.

So after 3 days of learning Shqip, we taught our first lesson and it was great until our "investigator" started talking. Let's just say from now on, I can't teach a lesson any worse. (or even teach at all. I didn't understand what she was saying as it was all in Shqip!) But I love this language and am determined to learn it so that I can use it to spread the gospel of Christ! One thing that really stood out to me was that I'm not here at the MTC to learn Shqip. I am here to learn how to invite others to come unto Christ and Shqip is just the tool for me to reach out and love, serve, and teach the Albanian people. I've heard a lot about relying on the Lord as I am teaching and having faith to speak what I have prepared and bring to my remembrance the things I've studied. I went into the lesson relying on the spirit but then realized that really, I may not have prepared myself to even bring things to remembrance. We need to do our part, before relying on the Lord to do all things. Whether that be reading a scripture to find an answer to a prayer, getting up to serve to know how to reach out or reconnect with someone, or studying the language to have things brought to my remembrance through the spirit.

Finally, I had an experience where someone asked, "How do you know God is there? How do you know that you aren't just talking to yourself?" I just want to testify to you that I know that God is there and when you pray, you are speaking to Him. I thought a lot about faith and how it is a hope for things which are not seen, which are true. I challenge you to really kneel down in prayer. First address Heavenly Father, then pray from your heart. Not a recited prayer, but a real communication with your Father in Heaven. Ask if He is there with a HOPE that He is! You will feel the warmth, the peace, and the feeling that you are speaking to your Father in Heaven. Then close "in the name of Jesus Christ, amen" because it is through Heavenly Father's son, Jesus Christ, that we can do all things. I now am able to pray in Shqip and it's a beautiful experience! God (our Heavenly Father) truly is listening to us when we pray. I know that to be true and I love my Heavenly Father and my Savior. It is through my Savior that I can do all things! Even if that means learning Shqip. I love you all and I love being a missionary! Until next week!

Motra Olsen Mission Farewell

The Healing Ointment of Forgiveness: Natalie's Farewell Talk

Përshëndetje vëllezër dhe motra! Or hello brothers and sisters!I don’t know if I said that right but I’ll find out in 18 months. My name is Natalie Olsen, soon to be Motra Olsen and I have been called to serve in the Adriatic South Mission. For those of you that have no idea of where this is, the Adriatic South Mission consists of the countries of Albania, Kosovo, and Macedonia located north of Greece by the Adriatic Sea in Europe. I have been called to serve and teach the gospel in the Albanian language and I report on October 12th. If you can’t tell by the expression on my face, I am pretty excited.
As I have been preparing to serve and learning more about my mission and the people in my mission, I have realized the importance of learning about our Savior, Jesus Christ. Not only learning about His love, the miracles He performed, and the blessings he bestowed through the teachings of His gospel, but understanding His true purpose on this earth: His infinite sacrifice, the Atonement.
Mosiah 4:6-7 "I say unto you, if ye have come to a knowledge of the goodness of God, and his matchless power, and his wisdom, and his patience, and his long-suffering towards the children of men; and also, the atonement which has been prepared from the foundation of the world, that thereby salvation might come to him that should put his trust in the Lord, and should be diligent in keeping his commandments, and continue in the faith even unto the end of his life...I say, that this is the man who receiveth salvation, through the atonement which was prepared from the foundation of the world for all mankind."
The Atonement is the heart of the gospel.  It is only through the Atonement that we can be saved; that we can be forgiven; that we can return to our Father in heaven; and that we can become like Him. I have been asked to speak on the “Healing Ointment of Forgiveness”. I wanted to emphasize three ways that we can be healed through forgiveness because of the Atonement. First, how we can be forgiven, how we forgive, and how we are healed through forgiveness.
In the Book of Mormon in Alma 36, Alma the younger testifies to his son, Helaman of the power of forgiveness. Alma expresses how he seeked to destroy the church of God with the sons of Mosiah. An angel appeared unto them to stop them. Alma experienced a period of reflection on his past iniquities and sins. He was pained and ashamed to even imagine coming into the presence of God. He then remembered his father prophesying of the coming of Jesus Christ to atone for the sins of the world! He cried unto the Lord to forgive his sins sincerely and then declared,
20 "And oh, what joy, and what marvelous light I did behold; yea, my soul was filled with joy as exceeding as was my pain!
21 "Yea, I say unto you, my son, that there could be nothing so exquisite and so bitter as were my pains. Yea, and again I say unto you, my son, that on the other hand, there can be nothing so exquisite and sweet as was my joy."
Because Alma felt such guilt and pain reflecting on his past decisions, imagine how much more joy he felt to have been able to be forgiven and to be healed from his sins! How can we be forgiven even in our worst sins, even when giving into temptation, even when we think we are too fallen to return to the light of Christ? How can we experience having our souls filled with joy as exceeding as our pain? I testify to you that you CAN be forgiven of ALL THINGS! We can taste of this joy! As Elder Holland has said, “No one is ever beyond the reach of our Savior’s atonement.” Our Savior, Jesus Christ suffered for every individual sin, pain, affliction, sorrow, loneliness, and iniquity so that we can be forgiven. So that he can succor us in our afflictions. D&C 18:11 “For, behold, the Lord your Redeemer suffered death in the flesh; wherefore he suffered the pain of all men, that all men might repent and come unto him.” No matter how serious, how tormenting, how painful the sin, we can be forgiven. I have been studying the Infinite Atonement by Elder Tad R. Callister. In this beautiful book detailing and testifying of the Atonement he states, “This was a personalized, not a mass atonement. Somehow, it may be that the sins of every soul were individually (as well as cumulatively) accounted for, suffered for, and redeemed for, all with a love unknown to man.” Our Savior and Redeemer suffered for us so that we can be forgiven. He loves us individually and infinitely so that we can each be forgiven and return to the embrace of our loving Father in Heaven. We can receive this forgiveness through true repentance.
True repentance is not only asking for forgiveness, experiencing restitution, and expressing confession, but experiencing a change of heart. As Alma the Younger experienced a change in his heart through his conversion and his repentance, he immediately served and preached the words of Christ. As he was preaching to the people of Zarahemla, he recounted the life of his father, Alma and his conversion. Alma taught that his father saw a mighty change in the hearts of the people that he taught. They humbled themselves, repented, were faithful, and were saved. Alma the younger then asked the people of Zarahemla, “Have ye experienced this mighty change in your hearts?” How can we experience this mighty change in our hearts? This mighty change that brings true repentance involves being faithful to God and no longer having a desire to return to our previous sins or to give into temptations. This change of heart helps us to forgive. This brings me to my next point on how to be healed through forgiveness, we need to forgive others.
In Matthew 6:14-15 “For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” In Elder Kevin R. Duncan’s talk on “The Healing Ointment of Forgiveness”, he says, “God sees people not as they currently are, but also as they may become...we can gain greater understanding and peace when we see with a broader perspective.” As we gain a broader perspective and see others as children of God, we can forgive. If we allow our hearts to change and to love others as God loves them, we can forgive. As we forgive others, we can be forgiven.
I wanted to share a sweet story about my little sister Carley. When she was younger, she liked to get into my things. She borrowed my sunglasses one day and I came home to find a broken pair of sunglasses on my bedroom floor with 5 notes that say “sorry” all over them along with her entire life savings piled on the floor. Another time, I come to find next to my bed, an empty chocolate wrapper with a note next to it saying, “Sorry I ate your chocolate but I couldn’t help myself. Love, Carley” I was touched at how eager and willing a little girl could be to apologize and be willing to give up her entire life savings to be forgiven. As we pray to our Heavenly Father and ask for forgiveness, we do not have to give up our life savings. We all make mistakes and because of that, our Savior atoned for our sins. We can repent and decide to change, to serve, and to no longer return to our previous sin. We can experience this change of heart. While we will make mistakes, we will always be forgiven. I know that there is peace as we forgive and as we reach out and ask for forgiveness when we have wronged others, regardless if we are forgiven in return.
Finally, I wanted to talk on how we can be healed through forgiveness. Elder Duncan also states, “Forgiveness is the very reason God sent His Son, so let us rejoice in His offering to heal us all. The Savior’s Atonement is not just for those who need to repent; it is also for those who need to forgive.” I believe that we need to have faith that we are forgiven. We need to forgive ourselves. Sometimes we have repented and changed our hearts and we are forgiven. While our Heavenly Father has forgiven us, have we forgiven ourselves? Do we question that our sins are too heavy to be forgiven? We need to trust in God that the Atonement of Jesus Christ truly cleanses us. We need to trust that we are forgiven. We can feel the purest joy when we are forgiven by our Heavenly Father, and by ourselves. In 3 Nephi 9:13 it says, “...will ye now return unto me, repent of your sins, and be converted, that I may heal you?” It is only through Christ that we can be healed and that we can feel the peace of Christ. Christ’s Atonement heals.
I want to share with you my experience with the peace of Christ. As I have been preparing to serve my mission, I have been faced with doubts and difficulties as Satan does not want me to go out and serve or to share the light of Christ with others. I have been battling and struggling to eliminate such doubts and such thoughts. As I have been experiencing these difficulties, I know that I am not facing them alone. The only time that I feel true peace is when I turn to Christ. I think of the scripture John 16:33 "These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” I then realized that the Atonement heals. The healing ointment is Christ! It not only heals our sins through repentance, but our wounds that we face when we struggle and our weaknesses that strive to strengthen. Be of good cheer! Christ has overcome the world through suffering for our sins and suffering for every struggle we will EVER face.
Our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love us individually. Christ suffered for each of us individually so that we can partake of this healing power of the Atonement. We can apply this ointment by turning to Christ and becoming like Him. We can be forgiven, forgive others, and forgive ourselves. I was touched by the song, “For Me Alone”  saying,

But if I alone had stumbled; if I alone had strayed

If I alone had wandered from the straight and narrow way

If I alone bore guilt for which my all could never atone

He would have come for me

For me alone

I testify unto you that the Atonement heals. Christ atoned for all of our sins. Not just the minor sins, but every sin. Our wounds became his wounds. He suffered for each of us so that we can repent, be cleansed, be healed, and be worthy to return back to our Father in Heaven. If you alone had stumbled or strayed, I testify that Christ would come for you alone.
Alma 29:9 “I know that which the Lord hath commanded me, and I glory in it. I do not glory of myself, but I glory in that which the Lord hath commanded me; yea, and this is my glory, that perhaps I may be an instrument in the hands of God to bring some soul to repentance; and this is my joy.”
I cannot wait to serve for 18 months and share the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is our Savior and I want to share that infinite joy with the people in the Adriatic South. I know that it is through the Atonement we can have everlasting life. I know that it is through the Atonement that we can be cleansed and worthy to return to our home to our Father in Heaven. I know that we have a living prophet that loves us and guides us in these latter days. I know that the Book of Mormon is TRUE as it testifies of Christ and his infinite Atonement. I know that families are forever and I am so thankful for all of my family and friends who have loved me and supported me in all that I do. And I hope to be an instrument in the hands of God and this is my joy. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Called to Serve in the Adriatic South!

Dear Sister Olsen,

You are hereby called to serve as a missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. You are assigned to labor in the Adriatic South Mission. It is anticipated that you will serve for a period of 18 months.

You should report to the Provo Missionary Training Center on Wednesday, October 12, 2016. You will prepare to preach the gospel in the Albanian language.

Adriatic South Mission
I cannot put into words my excitement to serve the people in the Adriatic South! As a missionary, I will be teaching others about Jesus Christ and inviting them to come unto Christ and following Christ's example through baptism in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. In addition to teaching, I will be serving and sharing my joy and the love of our Savior, Jesus Christ. He loves each and every one of us and I have the opportunity to share that with others for 18 months! I want to share with you how much knowing my Savior and growing up in His church has blessed my life. Because of the Savior, I am never alone! Because of my Savior, I have a smile on my face every day! Because of our Savior, we can experience pure joy! And because of our Savior, we can return home to our Father in Heaven and His beloved Son, Jesus Christ. I want to share with you that the things I teach from the Book of Mormon, (or Libri I Mormonit in Albania), testify of Jesus Christ. The teachings from this book and from the Bible are teachings from Christ's church. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (or the Mormon Church) is the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I cannot wait to be a missionary and to be called Motra Olsen for 18 months! I love you all with all of my heart and thank you for everything you have done for me in my life!

If you want to read about all of my experiences: the strange food I eat, the cultural things I experience, and my love for the Albanian people, just read this blog! If you want to email me, you can contact me through my email natalie.olsen@myldsmail.net.
